this card performs a bit worse than a 1070, the price isn't bad, so if you can't find a 1070 to fit in your budget then go for it.

For 360 US I would just go for a 1070. I have seen those locally for 250-300

Okay great to know thanks. Looks like I will let this one pass

Yeah I would go on craiglist around your area, for example here is a 1070 for $180 in seattle https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/sop/6212089346.html

Make sure if you use craiglists that you go to public places tho

Actually it performs the same, or a bit better, than a 1070.

THe 980Ti also has more CUDA cores, so it performs better in non-gaming computations.

The 1070 has 2GB more VRAM, uses less power, and is newer. Up to you...

Since the 1070 is not available right now at normal price, the 980ti for $360 is not a bad deal.

The 980 Ti is a bit high, but not bad for the current market. I got my 980 Ti used last year for $350...before the miner craze, they were going for $300ish on ebay.

As for performance, it depends on how far the card overclocks. If you can get around to 1500MHz, the 980 Ti will outperform the 1070 (also overclocked). However, the 1070 has more VRAM and runs cooler. I own a 980 Ti and two 1070s (Though I sold off the 1070s to miners)...now getting two 1080s.

I'd try and whittle down the price a bit.

Sadly though, most of the people who were going for 1070s got burned by miners jacking up prices so they kind of either went for 1080s or 980 Tis. So there's a lot fewer 980 Tis on the market.

Also, EVGA B-Stock sometimes has legendary sales. They're out of stock at the moment, but I've seen 980 Tis go for $300 or less there on sale. They also have some pretty good deal on 1070s (back when they were in stock).

Best of luck to you though.

Lucky me. I got my MSI Gaming 980 Ti for $300 USD off Craigslist.

That has to be a scam.

That's pretty good. haha. Just make sure to overclock / change the thermal paste as needed.

I remember the thermal paste on my 980 Ti (Gigabyte Gaming G1) was kind of dried up a little when I got it. Changing it out dropped the temps a fair bit (8-11C).

I haven't run it yet, since I don't have a PSU I'd trust with it. It's part of my gradual upgrade to a Ryzen 1440p gaming machine. Though it's in flawless condition, with all the original cables and plugs and stuff. The previous owner took good care of it, since there isn't even any dust on it. None.

It does seem a little too good to be true, but if OP ever decides he can always verify irl (that is, if the seller will allow him to :P)

Yeah, I kind of usually only shop on ebay. I usually have no problem paying a bit more for shipping if that means I don't have to worry about the person coming after me or having to carry pepper spray and a tazer just to buy something. Sometimes Craigslist can be a scary place (depends what area though).

Hmm, I'll have to check out those two sites, shopping around for 1080s with the profit I made from selling my two 1070s. haha.

Originally I was going to save for a 1080, then I saw the 90ti ad, and then this one and if it is legit I should find out soon. I emailed them a few minutes ago

I hope you get it / maybe try to knock the price down a little.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Craigslist guy here for two 1080s at $450. I might try hitting up other people now or waiting for Vega to release...No clue when the mining crash will happen.

Wow that is a good price, I wish I could find one like that here. I get a lot of ads from the canadian craigslist pages and even with the advantage of the exchange rate I haven't found any quite that low

Also thanks!

They're apps. You can review people you buy from and sell to, so you get a reputation. Profiles are linked to your Facebook account (you don't have to, but it's more trustworthy). It's not perfect, but they're better than Craigslist.
