D5 for EK Aluminium coming soon, don't use the current ones perhaps

Hi Guys,

Just spreading the word that you shouldn't use the current D5s in the Fluid Gaming series yet. Stainless steel used in the D5s are as far away as copper is from aluminium in the galvanic series and so probably should avoid being mixed. On the other hand the SPC pumps are mostly plastic and so there is less of this concern. Apparantly EK is looking into aluminium D5 equivalents so one should be patient.

Nice post. What about using hardline tubing with these kits?

I remember reading somewhere it was either EK_luc or a news statement saying there were no current plans to produce fittings for hardline, but who knows, with enough demand plans can change.

well hard tubing is seen as costing more due to people generally use more fittings which can up the cost a lot. and it is not that easy to do and requires more tools so I can see why the budget kits don't really match.

I'm obviously not saying it should be price equivalent. €300 for the hard tubing version of this kit would still be a killer price. As an equivalent custom cooper loop is €500-600.

Using € because EKWB deals in € if you are anywhere in Europe including the UK :P

Gaming series were released, because they want people to be able to afford custom water cooling.

If you want the greatest performance/expansions/look, you should go with whit copper.

Gaming series is meant for functionality at low price. So it makes sense that they are't using D5 out of the box, and soft tubing instead of hard.

In the end you will get same temperatures as with copper build, but it just won't look as good. Then again, you are saving yourself decent amount of money.

Just D5 combo + GPU water block (copper) cost more than 240G kit.

I just hope they will add GPU water blocks separately in shop, together with additional fittings and same for radiators. So you can water cool more GPUs and have more radiator space. I'm not hoping that for myself, but for other users who needs that. I'm done with water cooling probably for life xD

You're correct.  I was informed about this no later than this morning.

My apologize for the misinformation
