$99 Xbox 360 @Walmart

I've always been a PC gamer but am currently without a "gaming" PC. My Walmart has the Xbox 360 4gb for $99 on Black Friday. I figured for $99 it's better than nothing. Any recommendations on games that run smooth at 540p / 720p (single player mostly)?

P.S. The 360 will be hooked up to a Samsung 24" 1080p TV via HDMI.

For $99 I'd rather get a console from my childhood like an N64 and some games, it would be a lot more fun.

Gta IV is a bit laggy.

The only reason I would get a console is to play games like forza and Gta V.

But gta v is coming to pc soon.

You might as well try out the console exclusives for it: Halo, Forza, Gears series.

Try the exclusives first. Once you get through those, hop onto the mass multiplayer games; COD, Halo, yada yada yada. 

 

But honestly, try out some of the great indie games available. 

 

Also, Kingdom of Keflings. Looks like a stupid game, but it's so much fun.

It's only 50 bucks.

 

Also, I'd reccomend just going through and playing all the AAA games you may have missed. Alan Wake, Bioshock ( all of em ) or whatever. Do NOT start playing gears, you'll get owned soo bad. Trust me, I was around for Gears since launch and I can't tell you how many of my friends who came late to the game hate it. There's almost no opportunity to learn, but it is arguably one of the greatest MP games ever made. The finesse and playstyle unique to that game is just incredible.

Try Gears of War also. Even the first game is still fun and looks decent by Xbox standards.
