Buying a Graphics Card

Hi guys,

 

So I'm graduating from school in November and want to build my first gaming rig afterwards. I'm most likely going to be building the PC in January so my question is, should I buy my planned 1080, or wait however long until 'volta' comes out. I'm planning to be gaming on a 1440p 144hz monitor so keep that in mind as well.

A 1080 would be a good option now, but Volta would probably be out soon after, would be good if you can wait a few months (3-4 at most for stable supply I would think). 

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.
