Choosing a router

HeaterUp

I've finally got to that point in my apartment where I'm tired of having to use data on my phone and I'm looking for a simple router just for my phone and occasionally my laptop for schoolwork. As far as my desktop goes I'll keep that plugged through ethernet but I'm looking for a router where I won't lose speed plugging through ethernet on my desktop and I don't really need that fast of speeds wirelessly just enough for simple tasks on my phone and laptop to not be slowed down. (2 device max) Sorry if there is any useless (or not enough) information in this post, i don't know a ton about networking and just needing a router to provide my phone (and sometimes laptop) with Wi-Fi. I'm looking to spend ~$50 but budget isn't really my concern.

Now this option is over your budget, however, this is one of the most reliable and secure routers out there and is really easy to setup (especially if you have an iOS device). For your use case you don't really need anything over 802.11n so consider this:

Its got 1 Ethernet port for your desktop and will easily handle much more than your Desktop, Laptop, and Phone.

I say its one of the most secure because of this article and others like it:

Its small, its reliable, its secure, its fast. Its only downside for you is that it costs a lot.

That's not a drawback, you can set it up via AirPort Utility for Windows.

Its a router, not a proprietary device lol.

Its just easier on iOS because you can set it up inside the Wifi menu.
