I've used this for two years until I lost them. They sound amazing and are very easy on the wallet. Especially for dedicated gym earbuds because if you break them, so what?

I'd recommend the Shure SE215m+ earphones. They're the studio monitor design, so the earbuds go in upside-down and fit snugly into your ear, and the wires are looped over the tops of your ears. You can put the cable down the back of your shirt- it stays out of the way like that.

They only cost $109 right now and are the best-sounding earbuds in that price range and higher.

Because it's easier to break things or have things stolen at the gym. Save that money to get something nice to take with you on your daily commute or to enjoy music at home.

The Panasonic ones are beyond decent. Just because they're inexpensive, doesn't mean they're crap. You have headphones that cost well over 200 bucks that are utter disappointments. The sound is well balanced and nothing gets muddled. That's all you really need for a pair of gym headphones.

I use the Plantronics Backbeat Fit - Wireless and waterproof. They cost about 80-90 dollars now i think, not sure if theres a newer model out now.
Had decent performance out of them for the last 12 months or so, battery life still going good too, I usually get ~6 hours of it, brand new is probably 8-9 hours. I use it at the gym or out jogging, it's nice that I can wear it in the rain without having to worry about them, and they have a microphone for answering phone calls, which (according to the people I spoke with) sounds "perfectly fine".
Definitely go wireless if you can, so convenient. I carry a portable phone charger in my backpack, and my car has a charge cable too. The Backbeats use the same port to charge as androids so I can conveniently recharge both.
I'm not much of an audiophile, but they're open ear so you can still hear what's going on around you, which was one of the most important things i needed for jogging - The ones that block sound might get me killed, my area has some pretty high speed limits and plenty of pubs and hotels nearby.

Edit: I also USED to use them with these https://www.amazon.com/Yurbuds-Earbud-Covers/dp/B00A8ML9S2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1499645224&sr=1-1&keywords=endurance+enhancers+size+5
These are little earbud covers that go on over the earbuds and improves their sound quality ALOT, and makes them fit better, and further into the ear - recently I lost my set of covers, but it still works really well without it, just a little less clear on the bass and treble. Don't buy the covers from amazon though, they're meant to be 5 dollars each from the manufacturer's website.

I actually own MEE Audio M6 Pros that have a similar design.  I loved them, but my only issue is that I went through two replacement cables because audio would stop in one ear.  I think this is because I take my phone out of my pocket frequently while at the gym because I track every set I do.  As a result of this, the cable got twisted and over time of them getting twisted and untwisted, I believe caused the loss of audio in one ear.  I'm thinking maybe going with a wireless earbud.

Other than that, the Shure SE215m+ look great because I am also a musician and may have to just pick them up for that purpose.

Those are great value IEMs, but they don't exactly use premium cables. As for the SE112s- well, even though I try to take care of them, the cable has been stepped on, run over by my chair wheels while I was still on it, smashed between a drumstick and a snare rim, and been violently pulled when I put them on incorrectly and they snagged on something while I was running. It doesn't use premium materials, but the cables are fairly thick. There are few signs of wear, let alone damage. I'd imagine the SE215s are even sturdier, and so on and so on.

I'm a musician too, and while I don't practice with headphones (that's terrible for you), I will say that I enjoy the comparatively neutral response of Shure IEMs. Everything sounds great- even more so than my open-back dedicated production and listening open-back headphones; the Superlux HD 681 EVOs.

I think the only earphones I've used that even held a candle to the SE112s were the Sennheiser CX 281s, which were stolen from me in 2012.

Does Shure sell replacement cables for the SE215s?
