How about a forum topic section for VR stuff?

I'm surprised there isn't a VR section here yet since there's so much to talk about :)

how about it?

I wanted to make a post warning people not to use the fresco registry fix in the Oculus tray tool for example because it caused a ton of issues on my system for example.

All sorts of stuff to discuss on that topic. Would be a good time I think.

oh has it? you'd be surprised at how much troubleshooting can be needed with VR devices. That's why I made the suggestion. It's pretty new tech and there are a lot of problems that can come up. Almost always fixable though.

I suggested this a while ago. (like a year) and the suggestion got declined.

maybe stuff has changed since then, but I'd be surprised if this actually happened.

also, quote or tag @LoGiCalDrm since he probably didn't see your response.

cool, I agreed on your post to show support.

It'll definitely happen eventually.

It's become less niche especially since there are cheaper solutions like gearvr and since Oculus had that major price drop.

Problem is that its still niche subject. Unless it becomes really, really mainstreams, there's no point of making another subforum just for it. At the moment it fits just fine under current subforums. When I say it has found its place under Displays, I mean that I don't see so many threads posted to GD about it. Either means just that or that its becoming even smaller niche crowd.

I wouldn't worry too much about it being niche for long.

Computer components depreciate pretty damn fast

and I suspect that a lot of high end used video cards will become available when this current cryptocurrency trend that uses them experiences it's next bust.

So, give it 5 years or so and it'll be mainstream.

It's too cool not to.

The internet started out pretty niche too and look how that took off.

I remember people talking about how that would just be a trend :P

so, yea it's cool that it's not trendy enough to make an official topic yet.

I'm not the least bit worried about that ;)

I hope to see some more videos about it though in the future.

I mean, not everyone can afford it yet but I'm sure lots of us still want to see stuff about it especially if the folks at LTT think of crazy stupid things to try with it. That backpack VR video Linus did was awesome.

Its still not quite mainstream yet, but as it becomes more accessible in the next few years it will be needed.

For sure. I'll amass all the info I can to share until then. There's a buttload of troubleshooting with these things so yea. It's going to be needed. Especially with usb issues with the oculus and using expansion cards for it. Tons of fun stuff to troubleshoot there :P

Currently, the most popular headset on steam is the HTC Vive. A whopping 0.23% of all users owning one.

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

PLEASE QUOTE OR @ ME FOR A RESPONSE xD
