Motherboard Not Seeing Harddrives in BIOS (UEFI)

Fellow Techies,

What would cause my  MSIZ97S SLI Krait Edition Motherboard not to see my drives (both ssd and hdd)? I even pulled them out of my case (Thermaltake Level 10 GT) to make sure it wasn't the sata plan. Same thing happened. The board would pop up an A2 code and hang there forever. Then when I could get it to go into the bios I would check and the drives wouldn't even show, not even my Blueray drive. Can anyone explain this to me? Should I look at getting a new board? The bios is up to date. It happens repeatedly then nothing for a day to maybe a few days then it starts back up again rearing it's ugly head.

Instructions for frustration management:

Already did that. It didn't work for the first three boots then it did see the drives (pretty common for this board now a days). The drives have never given me a moments trouble. The sata cables have never given me any trouble either.

Sounds like a bad board then... You can kinda get past this with a sata/sas hba but thats messy. You also have the board rmaed but its probably out of warranty. Sometimes chips will fail like this. This was a big problem with some early lga 1155 chips.

I was afraid of that and was hoping someone would tell me differently.

 

This board was used, the the board I got back from MSI with a RMA.... I bent the pins! >:( :'(

 

Would it be worth getting a z170 board? I know that is an all new cpu, and ram but I can get a used i5 6600K for almost the same price (if not the same price) as my current i5 4690k on ebay. By the time I buy a new board I could have just upgraded. Thoughts?

My board has been playing nice since I purchased the new board. It just came in today... old board working great.... for now. Funny how things like that happen.
