Hey yall, first actual post on this forum, hoping to get an answer.

While I'm playing CSGO, I love the amount of frames Im getting. However, I would think with a title that old, It would run a lot more. I average about 95-100 frames in a normal match, and if I OC in wattman, I can get about 10 more. My question is, why the hell are these framrates so low? Is my old AF CPU the problem?

Let me know what you think.

TIA

I am running as follows

Processor: AMD FX-8350 (STOCK CLOCK)

Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2

CPU Cooling: Corsair H100i GTX (Corsair LINK v4)

RAM: 16GB of G.Skill RipJaws DDR3-1666 MHz

GPU: Powercolor Radeon RX 480 8GB 1290 MHz OC Edition

then the usual SSD and HDD, Wifi Card, Hue+, and Built in the S340 Elite.

Could be a driver issue. This could also be an issue with the game it'self. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

95-100  frames is actually quite good but that sounds really off when you're using an RX480. Please make sure to overclock your CPU and come back to us with the fps number.

Ive tried, but the board im using HATES OCing... a LOT. I will try again, but yeah...

Hi, this is coming from a person has close to 2k hours with csgo, I know all about the settings and such and the best way to achieve that 200-300 fps is to make sure you have Multicore Rendering enabled. Everything else falls onto the CPU. Csgo loves high clock speeds, I have a 2500k clocked at 4.7 with a 980 ti and I get 280-230fps on average. Thats an upcoming 6 year old chip as well. i7s do even better when it comes to csgo.

Csgo is definitely not gpu intensive, I have a friend with a 4790k and 770 who gets even more fps than me.

In terms of the 8350, it should be able to achieve 200 fps atleast. Are you running any programs in the back? Is your CPU usage 100% in game?

Put these into Set Launch Options.

-threads 4
-nod3d9ex
-high set

Sennheiser HD600 Logitech G304 White Anne Pro 2 LG27UL500

Ryzen 5 3600 + MSI B450i Gaming Plus AC in Fractal Design Nano S

Hey all,

Did some tinkering and got a 4.7 GHz stable OC with my chip (I'm very lucky to have it stable ig). After playing some more, I gained around 30-40 FPS... @Sabron I will put those in and update the thread and see if that worked.

Thanks!!!!
