Can any Canadians help me?

Hi there, everyone.

So, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. But, should everything go as intended, on late August/early September this year I'll be moving to Toronto - ON to attend college for Game Development & Design.

With some effort and smart reselling, I was able to build myself quite a nice rig (Ryzen 7 1700, GTX 1070, 8GBs of DDR4...) and I'll take it with me to Toronto. My plan is to take the parts with me on the plane in a backpack or something(don't wanna risk dispatching it, would rather dispatch my clothes and stuff), leaving the bulkiest stuff(case, monitor and maybe the power supply) behind in Brazil.

Upon arrival, I'll have to get myself a new case, new monitor and possibly a power supply then.

So, the question is: where do you/should I buy PC stuff? Should I just order it online, or there are good physical stores I can get these things?

The city will be entirely new to me, so I would really appreciate if y'all can help me by informing that. I'd like to plan ahead so I don't have to stay too long without my PC working.

Thanks in advance!

So, NCIX's the place to go? Good prices, variety..? A physical store do is a good idea so I can get the system up and running asap.

Depending on where you are going to be located in Toronto, there are physical locations for Canada Computers, they are also online.

Alright, thanks for the tip!

  • 2 months later...

So, I've moved in already, been here for about 10 days now.

Got myself a nice Ultrawide LG monitor on Best Buy and a 600W Deepcool PSU on Canada Computers.

I actually managed to fit my monstruous Cougar Challenger case on my luggage with some effort, and it arrived in perfect condition.

Also, I'm having a great time so far. :D

Sorry but

Bestbuy prices are too high and Deepcool isn't the best out of PSU

I usually order stuff online, Newegg for example.

So good. Also you can check ca.pcpartpicker.com for pricing

Oh, I did some research before getting the monitor. $400 for a 34" IPS LG Ultrawide is pretty good.

Some prices in Canada Computers absolutely suck. Check NCIX, Direct Canada, Amazon.ca, and Newegg.ca first.
