Moving Windows 10 to SSD

Hey guys,

bought my new PC today finally, and took the plunge on getting an SSD.  Now, I'm just wondering what the tool is to move Windows from my current old HDD to my SSD through a USB stick.

Is that the right one?

Clean install is the best option otherwise check out Norton Ghost

Be very careful if you consider cloning. Cloning from a HDD to a SSD can cause very strange issues because of the separate disks and weird hard drive things that SSDs don't have.

You don't move it, you clean install it.

Right on, that's it.  I know you might not run into those cloning problems if you don't have your HDD in at the same time as your new SSD.

Norton Ghost is a great product for what it is but it can cause problems.

If you're getting a Samsung SSD the software provided (which is also on their website if you don't have a disk drive) works perfectly! I haven't tested it with other drives, but might be compatible.

Remember to have the HDD unpluged when clean installing on the SSD

You won't be saying "it worked perfectly" a few months/years from now when windows tries to install updates and fails, and tons of issues start popping up.

Got an ADATA SSD, so I'm just gonna clean install windows.  I'm familiar this way anyways because I've reformatted my HDD before using this tool.  Thanks for the suggestion though.
