Bottleneck?

Since mining is the new hot trend, the value of my AMD cards has gone up making them very sellable in my area, at a profit that is. So with the sale of both my cards I hopefully would be able to purchase a GTX 1070 since mining wasn't really working out for me especially with noise and trust me when I said I've done everything. 

 

So the question is, would a GTX 1070 bottleneck an i5 6500? I typically would be using the GPU for tasks like content creation as well as occasionally gaming and playing titles such as Planetside 2, American truck simulator and sometimes NMS.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd try to step up to the 1080 (since the price of the 1070 has gone up due to mining as well) or waiting on the 1070.

Well in my local area there is a GTX 1080 listed for 800 but it has a founders edition cooling solution whereas there is a GTX 1070 listed for the same price but it's a AIO watercooled card and I'm pretty sure I can squeeze heaps more performance out of it by overclocking. Your thoughts?

If you can wait until the eleventh there may be some offers on 1080's etc. on amazon prime day.

1080 if you're using a smaller case. You can also buy an EKWB kit for your PC whenever you feel like moving it up to water-cooled.

Ahh unlucky me, I'm in Australia and its a pain to find things on amazon that can ship to Australia at a decent cost.

It'd be up to you. I'd take the 1080 since it's a stronger card, will last you through a monitor upgrade (2560x1080 or 2560x1440, both at 144Hz) and you can water-cool it whenever you'd like.
