Gpu sag

Can gpu sag kill or damage my gpu. Probably a stupid question im just new to this and want some guidance

It can damage your motherboard PCIe slot.

well it depends on the sag.. how much, quality of the pcb etc,, 
if you want to be safe, have your computer lying down as a htpc so the gpu is standing vertical instead of hanging horizontally, or you could ghettofix it by hanging a wire or similar from the top of the case, and have it support the top back end

but if your computer is just standing static by your desk, it shouldn't be a problem, but again, too much sag is never good

i've seen newer motherboards come with reinforced pcie slots now for this exact issue

can we have a pic of the amount of sag in question? i have a little GPU sag on my Titan X, but that's so minimal it might aswell be straight in the slot anyway.

 

just make sure you tighten the screws for your GPU tight enough, and youshould be fine. PCB's nowadays are resillient af

I dont have a pic of it. Buti can say that itwouldentb major. Millimeters if anything. Its a lighter card only thing that sould cause sag is if i have it positioned where the screw is too far up the holding spot on the gpu

Then it's fine and you don't need to worry about it.

Thats why i was asking. The card has been working just fine for about a week straight (all the time its been installed) imjist deathly afraid of aomething minor killing it
