Best Motherboard and CPU for $100 Budget

So I have a potato that has an old CPU and motherboard that's AM2 and DDR2 and looking for something better for $100 Canadian, have a R7 250 GPU in it and it is getting bottlenecked like crazy, so I need to upgrade. P.S I know putting a better GPU in the PC does not make it faster, It was the only spare GPU I had laying around to put in.

I would save up if I were you,DDR2 is old and 100 cad budget is too small for anything good

I only have it as a second computer and for it to run games for guests such as csgo, rocket league, and maybe even a moba. (it runs these already, just slow)

I would just search your local craigslist and hope for a good deal. 100 CAD is pretty low for an new parts

My Work in Progress PC http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/522048-xeon-build/ <-- That PC was built but never booted:(

My Work in Progress PC 2.0 https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/540583-xeon-build-20-code-name-xenox (Hopefully this one boots.)

Just got a buddy of mine a $40 CAD i3 2130 prebuilt with no RAM, just mobo cpu case and psu.

You could probably find a 2500 + mobo for 100 bucks, I see it in Ottawa all the time.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

yes, but you are in a way larger city than mine. We have about 100,000 people you have around 1 million.

True, I'd give it a shot.  Try ebay for a second gen i3/i5 and any 1155 mobo

Try ebay

Also try electronics recyclers

The one near me is nationwide and has 25k sales and 100% rating, usually 1000-2000 items at any given time.

They have a physical address where you can pick up the items.

Sometimes there are some great deals to be had.

Just gotta be patient.

You can look at Xeons, the X56xx series cpu's are great.

Vancouver =

2500 + mobo = $175

Kelowna should be similar, since it's also hit with shitty market syndrome.
