hard to know what the issue is without knowing more. Make sure their OS and graphics drivers are up to date. If that does not help try reinstalling the affected games. Next step would be to replace the GPU and CPU thermal paste. Then try running with only one stick of ram. Next thing to do if none of that works is to pull off all important files and re install windows. The last thing to try would be new ram and or a new power supply and maybe a bios flash.

Is he running overclocked? 
Yes --> Turn off the overclock and test again.

Are the temps normal?
No --> check if the loop is functioning properly.

(Are all fans running)
A simple way to check if the pump is running --> if the water block is hot but the pipes and radiator stay cool, the water is not flowing properly and the pump could be the problem.
