I already got some parts for my next build and has been wondering what case to get.
I'm kinda interested in the Bifenix Prodigy M/Phenom M/Colossus M, but those are a tad bit more expensive than I thought they would be.
Do you think they are good for the price? Are there other better alternatives?

Mobo: GA-B75M
CPU: i5-3470
GPU: MSI HD7850
PSU: Seasonic M12II 520W
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
SSD: Plextor M5S 128GB
Heatsink: CM Hyper T4

As you can see, I'm still missing a case and I'm ready to start my build.
Would prefer to have a more portable case.

Are the handles on the prodigy m flimsy?

They bend but they're designed that way.

I got the normal prodigy, and the handles do bend, but they are not flimsy at all. You should check out tinytomlogans review of the prodigy. He smacks the shit out of the handles. They are quite strong.

I'm in the same situation. I have everything but my case and 1 other part. But I'm absolutely set on getting a Fractal Design Mini R2! They're super sexy and damn nice interior features. There's great video about it on Newegg. It's brand new so it has zero ratings on pcpartpicker and only 3 reviews on newegg. Honestly the 350D would be my second choice because I love the big window and the front-facing usb3.0 ports. But I refuse to get it because I hate the large-hole grate on top the upper exhaust fans. It is easily defendable I suppose and it might not bother anyone else, but after checking one out in person, it nawed at me until my soul bled. I really wished I didn't mind that ugly top grate, but I do and I refuse to buy this otherwise amazing case.

350D by Corsair. You get the build quality of the Obsidian series, with the affordability and form factor of an mATX case. It's only $100 on Amazon

having a 350D, the build quality is not Obsidian quality from older cases in it's lineage.

some of the prior efforts from the series have been detailed out to make them more

affordable for the masses. sure the from aluminum treatment goes on, but the chassis

is a lot weaker, the panels are flimsy (non-windowed), rear i/o is not very steady, the

metal in the chassis seems thinner and the stamped process is not as modular as before.

they did make some compromises to make the design affordable, but they did step away

from the Obsidian breed on this and the 750D chassis'.

the upper roof can be disguised with the 550D filter/filler and cutting some or the

over-trim to fit like the 750D roof mesh. might be another huh-oh like the 750D

missing lower/floor filter and the AIR 540 unfiltered air gap on the floor.

Its true that the 350D is good, but I think it's too big for me....

I would struggle to find a place to put that and also carry that with me when I go to my "holiday house"

yeah and it'll scar and scratch pretty easily, the front fascia will not be pretty after

some road trips. and with that said, i'd look for an inexpensive beater that you wouldn't

care if it got dented or banged up.. sinking large cash into something that will get

damaged will hurt the pocket and the appeal. if a beater has got war wounds and battle

scars, it'll add to the character of the build..

The 350D is butt ugly once you add anything to the 5.25 bays since it isn't flush..it's inset for some stupid reason. Not everyone uses an ODD, but people still use fan controllers and other bay devices. Seriously Corsair, why did you not make it flush..it looks so bad.

The Prodigy M has a meh layout in spite of people making mods of the original Prodigy being modded to fit matx boards with the same layout. If you want an mAtX case now, I'd go for the Xigmatek Aquila as well.

WHAT?!? Oh man... now I have some serious thinking to do. The only thing left I need for my case is a ssd and a case!! Now I'm going to spend tomorrow staring at the 350D again to see if it calls to me...

yes, i saw this mod on OCN forum (post # 1316)

I bought these 550D filters from Corsair as the 240mm shape is similar to the grill pattern on the 350D. I'll be trying the one 2nd from left, then slice it with a carpet knife. Say it with me now ... "it should work"!bc755383_filters.jpeg

As a follow on from my own post and for those who are interested in a magnetic top 240mm filter, the original Corsair 550D filters arrived.

Once 15mm is sliced off from each end, it'll fit perfectly, here are some photos (not yet sliced):
