CPU for 4k video editing

I have to upgrade to render 4k in Adobe Premiere. It will be a budget one: Geforce GTX 1050ti, Corsair 16gb 3000mhz, EVGA 500W, 500 SSD, 3TB WD Black. Now, i don't decide yet which CPU i would buy. Which would be the better option for the less price (Intel proccesors).

you say intel but an r5 1600 or r7 1700 are easily the best video editors for the money

oh wait you have a z170 mobo already.  I'd sell the i5 and mobo and get a 1700 + b350 mobo

Ryzen 7 1700 is the best cost to performance CPU you can possibly get for pure video editing.

Well Adobe Premiere does enjoy fast cores, the i7 7700k is still a way to go.... since he already has the board.

true but depending on the local market the i5 may not sell unless it comes with a mobo

The Ryzen 5 1600 is better for rendering as it's main use is multi-core computation and video rendering, the I5 has the upper hand at gaming given its single core performance but as rendering uses multiple cores the Ryzen beats it out.

For premiere pro it will be fine at HD, for 4k i'd say no given its cuda amount. The 1060 6Gb is good if you want to do 4k.

It'll be doable but a second hand gtx 960 (preferably a 970/980) will perform significantly better

6GB one, from what I have seen they are nearly the same price as the 3gb one.
