GPU & CPU Choosing

Hi Guys,

 

I'm building a new system for 1080p video editing and gaming.  My budget is quite small but I'm getting a few locally and I'm not sure of which of the paths to take. Here are the options.

Option 1

Ryzen 7 - 1700x 

RX 580 4GB

$589

 

Option 2

Ryzen 5 - 1600

GTX 1080 founders

$679

 

I'll be pairing it with 16gb of ram and 3 1080p monitors.  What i wanted was smooth gameplay but also really smooth use of after effects.

ryzen 1600 should be enough, gtx 1080 will help with games especially if you want to play 1440p or 4k titles in the future.

How about a 1070 and a r7 1700?

Look at a 980ti.

 

What programs? What codec? What effects?

I dont have a specific set of effects that I use for After Effects but as of codecs I'll be using H.261.

 

If i use the R7 1700 I could get a 980ti and the combo will cost me about the same as to 1080 and the 1600.
