GPU stops working randomly

Hello,

I'm still not entirely sure whether it's my gpu or my monitor but most probably it's my gpu.

I have noticed that my monitor goes black at a random moment while playing. I cannot hear in-game sound but I can hear my friends talking on skype. Gpu temps are okay, 76C max and 73C avg while playing. My monitor doesn't say "Going into sleep mode" or anything like that, it just switches between hdmi and analog. Display screen is set to never turn off. I am forced to restart every time this issue happens.

This happens only in League of Legends. It happened once in GTA V in 200 hours of gameplay but several times in ~10 hours of LoL. 

Drivers are updated. I can provide more information if needed.

What could be the cause? Or is it the monitor?

 

GPU: Asus Rx 470 OC 4GB

Monitor: Samsung S24D390

Psu: Chieftec SMART Series GPS-400A8 400W

Sell the 470 for $300+ US or 400+ CAD and buy yourself a  1070

Miners are looking for RX470's and the price is high. Sell it asap with small discount like £280 and then get GTX 1070.

Here a 1070 is +600$ so I can't get a 1070. I'm looking for a possible fix to my problem.

Switch HDMI cables, remove all overclocks, re-install the GPU drivers.

Sorry for the late reply.

I did everything you said and it didn't work. I got this issue even when I was watching a live on twitch.

A restart doesn't help. I'm forced to shutdown and then start the computer again.

Considering the card will probably be out of stock, I don't expect OP to be playing games for awhile.

They have to offer him a replacement, if not an upgrade.

Quite difficult to offer a replacement if there are no cards left to do so.

 

There have been reports of vendors refunding the money in an RMA due to lack of stock. This goes doubly so as this is an AMD card (read: Miners eat them up like no tomorrow) with no upper SKU available as of now to upgrade to. I expect that OP will be offered a refund, then left to fend for him/herself in finding a replacement.

I think its your gpu. I had the same issue once with in my case r9 270x. Just removed the gpu,cleaned the pcie slot with blower, cleaned the gpu connectors with a tissue paper and reseated it. And  good to go. Try this out and inform if it helped!

They have to, it's their policy.
