I need help deciding and advice

I'm in a bit of dilemma, I cannot decide what route I should go, a10 6800k or fx6300.
I have $300 budget for CPU, memory and motherboard,
I do game and also a power user
I would like some advice on why you would go the route you choose, any other options would be nice also
Is my 9600gt even irrelevant anymore game like bf4, ac4 or should i go with and apu?

My current system and it serve me well , but the motherboard on it way out and I'm using a sata card, since my on board sata are not working anymore

4 GB ram
Nvidia geforce 9600gt
500 GB hdd
ultra lsp 650watt power supply

Your 9600gt is going to bottleneck either way. I'd get the 6300 just because of the chance that you'll upgrade your GPU down the road.

A A10 6800k, would be a solid choice if you are not interested on upgrading the GPU (maybe even PSU) on the future.

The FX 6300 is a great CPU and you can keep your old card for now and upgrade down the road.

You can also wait a little bit (27 jan) For  AMD new APUs, with the A10 7850k flagship model. (will cost about the same as a 6800k).

 so i figured, i was kinda was looking to that option also kaveri look quite intersting, im not sure if amd3+ is a dieing platform, trying to future proof as much as a can which breaking the bank if you understand

To get that Kaveri working, you will need a Fm2+ mobo, which are compatible with all FM2 CPUs/APUs. You will be able to get it in about 2 - maybe 2 and a half months.

AM3+ Is old and will not have any new products coming next year.

However if you are looking for a gaming System, getting a FX 6300   +   AM3+ mobo   +   Ram today, and later upgrade to a better GPU, is what makes the most sense.
