When I Found a posting for a free Imac on craigslist, I was understandably skeptical. My first assumption was that it was either stolen or a scam. As I would learn later What was pictured was an imac G5, which is not worth much anyways, but the story is much more interesting than that. I called the guy up and arranged to meet him in a public parking lot in daylight just in case. When I arrived, a very polite middle aged man stepped out of a 1980s station wagon. He explained that he was a teacher that had used the computer in his classroom. He also brought along two more Imacs and said those were "broken" but mine if I wanted them, after all they were donated to him by parents so he had no monetary investment in them.   Containing my excitement as I noticed the aluminum body on one of the two additional Imacs I said "yea sure, I fix things". Finally, I thanked him shook his hand, said "have a great day", and drove off with my haul. When I got home I tested the computers and found, after a little tinkering with the OS that they all worked just fine. I was ecstatic. So, I decided to keep the aluminum core 2 duo machine and sell the G5s at my local used computer store. They only gave me 30$ for the two, but who cares, money. And I turned around and used that money to buy 4 gigs off ram for my new Imac, which will allow me to upgrade to el capitan. So all told, I ended up with a 2007 20" Imac with a core 2 duo and 1 gb of ram absolutely free. Furthermore, even after the 22$ for more ram, if you consider the 30$ I made, i'm still 8$ in the green on this project.  This is one apple product that was not overpriced. This post was written on my new Imac. (update to come when the 4gbs of ram come and I update to el capitan) (please excuse the badly lit photos of the G5s, I only took a few photos before selling them)IMG_5711.thumb.JPG.0bee769e67f5dddfecc2023ec76bded9.JPG5952b2996bec5_IMG_5713(1).thumb.JPG.c88933920a97fc02db4d18582c640cc2.JPGIMG_5697.thumb.JPG.210c37193a8c69ef8ea02a42f1d508d7.JPGIMG_5694.thumb.JPG.29beeb13583acd52dd36f0b650c0a129.JPGIMG_5717.thumb.JPG.66667bc7e2a06b09d51caf2cfe9d7677.JPGIMG_5716.thumb.JPG.9203f0406bb15784b6a8f1e345121863.JPG

lol, its a pretty common name though. Throw a dart at a board of boys names and you have a good chance of hiting Andrew.

Mention me if you want to summon me sooner or later
