I need help with steam

Javs

I started downloading Payday 2 10 minutes ago or so, then (at about 20% of the process) it stopped downloading data. Steam download page says that hard drive is being used, but no thin is being downloaded. I have full conection to the internet, and I can't find any steam restrictions for downloading it. Anyone knows what to do?

I've already restarted the app three times and the computer once

Any help is truly appreciated

Thank you

How much space is left on the drive? I think Steam has a setting that if the drive gets above X amount full it stops all downloads.

Nevermind, it started back again just 30 secs ago for no reason, I'm freaking out a bit, but as soon as it works, I'm good with it. Thanks for replying

This is a common problem with Payday 2. My friends and I have nicknamed it the hard drive killer. A 500MB update can take hours. Payday has terrible optimization in regards to installations, and its something you can expect from it. Steam stops downloading because it needs to let your PC actually write stuff down on the drive, which takes forever for no real reason at all.

sounds like steam needs to down to 3 ram spaces get reserved(say 128mbyte each) then it can fill 1 space which on full writes to disk while switching to next ram space for continued download
