Werid connector at hotel

RomanChrome

Hey guys, so tonight I'm staying at a hotel in Madison, Wisconsin. Near the TV, there's a panel with loads of inputs on it that feed into the back of the TV, aw well as a few other things. On it, there's a weird connector labeled "iPod" which I'm not familiar with. I'm an Android guy, but I can tell that isn't lightning or the 30 pin connector. Any ideas?

Pretty sure that's Micro-USB for whatever reason.

Yeah its a Micro USB that would be my guess.

Too many pins to be a microusb. It's a mini HDMI

Yeah you know what, that's probably right. Really confusing as to why they would have a Mini-HDMI port there.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Looks a lot like mini HDMI, it's weird though because there's a full size HDMI port right next to it

iPods and iPads can output digital video signals via the lightning connector and an adaptor. (Apple sells those adaptors for a lower price than I expected, and of course there are cheaper ones elsewhere: https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MJVU2ZA/A/apple-hdmi-to-dvi-adapter?afid=p238|savWwW6Kj-dc_mtid_18707vxu38484_pcrid_115761117166_&cid=aos-au-kwgo-pla-btb-product-MJVU2 _

I assume the misguided intention here was that people would run a cable from lightning to mini HDMI via that adaptor or something. Or maybe whoever designed this was even more confused than that.
