Does a SSD and More Ram Help render speeds in Final Cut Pro X

I have a 2011 IMac 2.5Ghz Quad Core i5 with 4gb of ram and a 500gb 5400rpm drive and i cant even get final cut to move.

No, they help prerendering and scrubbing.

The final render is pretty much all your CPU.

Yup. Though the latest version of FCP also uses the GPU a lot for rendering. You'll defo want at least 8GB of RAM, and an SSD will help with load times, imports, etc. I have a 2012 MacBook Pro (13", dual core i5, originally 4GB RAM, 5400RPM drive), and it crawled until I installed 16GB RAM and an SSD. It runs FCP X fine now.
