So i recently got a asus 970a motherboard and amd fx 8370 at a steal of a price. I wasn't planning on upgrading my pc anytime soon from my fx-6300 but i couldn't pass up the price i was offered ($60!!). I currently have a Power Color amd r9 270 (had a tight budget) and I'm thinking of either getting another to crossfire or upgrade to a better GPU. I know i can only ball out up to a certain point due to the cpu limitiations. So should i buy another or upgrade. Any suggested cards on upgrades? I'm thinking if i want to upgrade ill wait for black Friday and get one at a decently discounted price. Anything helps

Get something used. GTX 970? That would be the maximum before insane bottleneck. Or new, GTX 1050Ti. If you want AMD, go R9 390.

even a gtx 970 will be bottlenecked in some scenarios, FX IPC is really bad.

Yep, but this post is about GPU, rather than upgrade.

just save up for a system upgrade, FX is old, i suggest you save up for a ryzen.

i dont do any insane gaming on pc and i was planning on saving for ryzen but for $60 on a new am3 motherboard witha fx8370 was very hard to pass up. That barely would make a dent in a ryzen+am4 combo. Thank you though

I also understand that black Friday is VERY far away, i just figured getting some ideas on gpu's to look out for now would be good. There's always random sales going on so if i could snag one whenever i would be happy. I also did not go out of my way to upgrade to another fx when ryzen just came out. The deal was offered to me for dirt cheap and i took it. The only way i'll be feasibly upgrading the GPU is on a discounted price else ill be focusing on my next new ryzen build in a year or so. Little has been invested in this system currently and i do not plan on keeping this system as my main one for too long. Thank you for your suggestions.

@nerdslayer1 That is why this guy says "that would be the maximum before insane bottleneck."
