I started out extremely negative to this card... But now I kinda want it  :(

Man, I am getting close to pull out my hair in frustration. I don't want to start the Star Citizen alpha with my GTX 470... And I only have 1 PCIe slot.

We all want one, im not getting it as its likely to encounter issues and have some weird driver, i mean just look at the ares 2 now, that thing has gone to hell.

The thing that's killing me is that I was planning on buying a 1440p monitor... Not enough VRAM on this card. So I basically have to kill my plan to enjoy Star Citizen at all. I've been waiting forever for exactly this, a dual GPU card, and this is all there is... And the 690/ 7990... Naaaah! lol

 

I guess I'm biting the bullet. The Mars will have to do.

Because well, overclocked the Mars beats it, especially on minimum FPS where it counts, I'll be doing a lot of machinima in Star Citizen and can't afford frame drops when recording. Plus, the Mars has SLi fingers, so I can add a single regular 760 if I get a full size motherboard later.

And erm...... start citizen is working closely with AMD for mantle support so you may want to go for a R9 card for the 20-50% increase.

 

Shadowplay is a game changer for me. No performance loss while recording > higher FPS when gaming. Plus, I plan on getting a non-first gen Oculus Rift, and there will be G-sync on it eventually.

err im no so sure about that i see people reporting 10-15fps drops while having shadow play running. it is still first gen i suppose. but MSI have there own in beta right now. so it wont be there's for long :P

 

steam also have there own Rift in beta

 

and i agree G-sync does look nice.
