That's molex power from the PSU unless you have a device that requires molex power you don't need it.

The PC won't turn on when I plug it in. I pressed the power button but nothing happens.

Are the front panel connectors plugged in?

And of course make sure the power button on the power supply is in the "on" position, otherwise the power button on the case isn't going to do anything.

Plug it in to what exactly? I guess the cable is coming out of your PSU, right?
Molex plugs have been arround since the 1960s so its a little surprising your don't know what it is.....

Did you wire it correctly? To the mobo?

What are you plugging in and ensure all the connectors are properly connected first, if everything is good run through this checklist:

That is called a "molex connector" ... somewhat incorrectly ... molex is the company that made the connector.

It was used to power mechanical hard drives before the SATA hard drives were invented, with the thinner connectors.

Your computer case may have one of those connectors in order to power fan controllers or some fans pre-installed on the case.

Make sure you connect it the right way. it should only go one way into the mating connector of the power supply.

That's a floppy cable, not really used these days for anything much, some sound card used to require it as auxiliary power.

Are you getting anything from the system when you try to post.

As the other have suggested check the manual to ensure all the front panel connectors are wired up correctly and that the PSU is providing power by doing the paperclip test with everything unplugged from components.
