Does OMV Require Any Graphics Processor?

I have decided to go with OMV. Great. I have a 990FX motherboard that is gathering dust and I just need a cpu. Do I need a gpu to run OMV. Thanks in advance.

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

 

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

As long as your CPU is an APU (in other words, the CPU has integrated graphics), you'll be fine

It is a 990FX, an APU is not supported.

FYI, I'd use the GPU from my gaming rig.

based on what you said, the 990FX is a motherboard. The motherboard doesn't determine integrated graphics. Integrated graphics means that the CPU has a graphics processor in addition to a CPU chip, so that it can perform both roles. Its useful on business laptops and desktops that don't need much graphical power

This actually isn't necessarily true but it depends on motherboard models.  For example, I have a P67 chipset board from Gigabyte but it will HAPPILY post with no graphics installed, and the P67 does not support Sandy Bridge's IGP.  But it can post and just sit there with the only means to interact with it by Remote Desktop.

 

...But ya know, I keep a Radeon HD 5450 in it because sometimes you need to access the BIOS or remote desktop is inaccessible.
