R9 280X in 2017?

Is the R9 280x still worth getting in 2017? Can it run the modern games in 1080p at high settings?

My 380X which performs similarly, is pretty good with 1080p. If you can get it for a low enough price, it's worth it.

It all depends on the price ofc. but it is comparable to a RX 470 so it's a fine card for 1080P at high settings depending on the game.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

RX 470 = R9 290 performance

Still, 280x is very capable for 1080p.

Lines are a bit blurry on that subject but yes a RX 470 is somewhat comparable to a 290 but a RX 480 also trades blows with the R9 290.

RX 470 isn't a 280x sorry my bad.
