Hello all,

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RDkwvV << The build

I'm a first time builder who has done a bit of research but am not quite an expert on the process of building a computer. I need help on figuring out if my build will work, as in making it up and running, and if everything will fit in the case or the cables are compatible with each other, etc. I'm looking to play games like Overwatch at hopefully 80+ fps, and games similar to it, along with being able to run triple A games at a decent FPS. I'm not sure if this goal is even feasible, so some help on whether that will work or not would be great. If I should change anything, please add that, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Edit: Should I get a 144hz monitor if I'm going to achieve past 60 fps, or should I not?

Sorry for such a dumb question, but Ryzen as in a motherboard or GPU?

cpu, it's amd so you'd need to change the mobo as well, b350 recommended if you do change

Thank you! If you don't mind another question, if I were to purchase a Ryzen instead, would I go with the Ryzen 5 1500X at the same price range as my current CPU (i5-7500) or would I need a higher/lower value one?

As in price of motherboard? Just get which ever is cheapest that has the features you want (R5 is better than an i5 though, get that instead). Would also try get an RX 470 if you can find one.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

The 1500X will be fine. It's basically AMD's version of an i5, but with 4c/4t, instead of just 4c like the i5.

EDIT: though if you can, get a Ryzen 5 1600.

the 1600 has more cores which game devs are starting to program for and good if you want to record gameplay, but the 1500x will probably be fine for just gaming, even the 1400 if you're willing to learn a bit about overclocking ryzen (1400 should OC to about the same as a 1500x can) also it might be a good idea to check the mobo manufacturers sites to see what ram they support and get one in the 2600-3000 mhz range, the higher the better. Yeah ryzen is a bit more work in planning but it's a great platform to get on now that the worst issues are ironed out
