Is it safe to use adapters?

Hi all, I have been trying to uprgrade my pc now for a little while and was just wonder if it will be safe to use a dual molex to 6+2, and a 6 pin to 8 pin pcie connecters for my gtx 1070. This is my current PSU from Delta and it only has one 6 pin pcie currently.

May I suggest upgrading to a more reliable and newer power supply?

Tier 3 is usually the cutoff. 

 

For budget builds something like a Seasonic S12ii or Corsair CX450M is fine

Yeah, but since they mentioned a 1070, a quality power supply is a good investment.

3+ is quality, that's what I'm saying. You could run SLI 1080Tis off a Tier 5 for 10 years and you would likely be fine...

Nothing beats a Delta unit for reliablity, just by the way.

That PSU is probably a little old so it may not be a bad idea to replace it, especially if it doesn't have the connections you want natively. The Corsair CX550 should do nicely and isn't tremendously expensive if you need an upgrade now. If you have a few extra bucks to spend then the EVGA GQ or B2 should work fine as well.

That PSU was released quite recently and it's one of the best units for low end budget. It's been reviewed very well! It's more than enough for a GTX 1070 and it's one of my go-to units for low-budget oriented builds.
