Best gpu for 2560x1080?

chexor

I bought LG ultrawide 2560x1080p monitor (60hz, not free sync or gsync), i sold mine RX 570 for 300euros so i want to get another gpu that can handle this resolution, 980ti is not an option, it is 60euros above my budget (and it's used).

P.S. i have 2500k on 4.5Ghz and with RX 570 it is not even close to bottlenech gpu, i will consider to upgrade to ryzen soon, when prices come down a bit.

Why did you sell your RX 570? It would handle it well. Regardless get a RX 580/1060.

Bought rx570 for 195e, sold it for 300e because mining and shortage of RX gpus. Well RX580 wont be in stock anytime soon, maybe vega if it is under 300euros..

I don't think Vega will ever be that cheap!

Well entry level might be, there will be huge gap if vega is 400+ $ , because rx580 is 200-250$, there will probably be 300-350 $ entry level Vega..

Since Polaris is the entry level, I wouldn't bet on it.

Let's make it clear. For a widescreen 1080p at minimum 60fps on ultra you need performance between 1060 and 1070.

If you would accept high/very high settings in some games (not many) instead of ultra (or around 40-50fps on ultra) - go for 1060 6gb.

If you won't accept it AND you CAN wait for 2 months - consider Vega after it's benchmarked. Best option in the long run.

If you won't accept it AND you CANNOT wait - get a 1070.

Unfortunately any further advice here is not bringing anything new to the case. The choice is yours. I can only say that the expectation is that lowest Vega gpu will be around 1070-level of price, but 5-10% stronger in performance (which probably won't bring you anything you will notice on 60hz monitor).

Good luck!

Why would you not sell your RX cards lol? The mining craze has put the prices over the roof.

I bought my RX 580 4GB for $275 CAD and sold for $420 lol

By the way, don't suggest him getting rx 580, you cannot buy them right now no matter where you live

Didn't know the craze was that bad! But then again if you sell the card it's not like you will find something to buy!

Yeah for people that want to take that $100++ profit and switch to Nvidia, it's perfect.

I personally don't really care at the moment, I'm not playing AAA games right now. I can go buy a used gtx 1080 or wait for vega.

The profit is just too good

I used to own a 2560x1080 monitor personally, and although my old 960 2gb struggled, a 4gb 290x trixx had no issues.

I eventually upgraded to a 980ti, which was perfect for the panel, so I'd suggest a used one of those

Smallsnor: Huawei Matebook X

580, 1060 6gb, 980, 780ti (with old drivers, new ones perform a bit under) 290x, fury x, 390x. anything higher than this will obviously do it very well.

980ti and 1070, use display port if your lg monitor has it since you can overclock it to 80~90hz

If the 970 can do 5760x1080 MED/HIGH details with nearly any game with minimums at 60Hz, that's your starting point. Anything above it is good.

I have the same resolution monitor, but 75Hz with Freesync and my 470 8GB is fine. If you want a little more a 4/580 or a 1060 6GB will be fine.
