Cell phone provider for Vancouver

I'm just looking for some suggestions on a cell provider for Vancouver. My partner and I will be moving there in a month and need to get cell plans.

We are looking for good data, cheap and it would be nice if we could roam to the USA when needed.

Suggestions?

I used Fido, they are good

Now on a contract with Virgin, also good

Freedom should be avoided

Bell is great but pricey

Chatr is ok ish if you want something dead cheap

It's pretty hard to find a decent Canadian plan that will also let you roam without charging you insane fees.

What features do you want on a plan? What do you need? I've used almost every carrier in BC and I can probably give you some pretty good pointers.

What features do you want when you go down to the US?

Though, you should be forewarned; there's no such thing as good data in Canada. You'll get bent over with pretty much every carrier.

The us thing is really just a nice to have. Mainly we need two phones with 3gb of data on each at least. Some included minutes would be nice but not really needed.
