300-400$ Editing/Productivity PC help

My friend asked me about a PC for 300-400$ editing/productivity centered PC. He'll be mainly using an Elgato HD60 to record off other devices (mainly iPhone) and editing with it. He said he will not be doing gaming on it.

Here's what I have so far (https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SilverMight/saved/66sTWZ)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i3-7100 3.9GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($109.66 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI - B250M PRO-VDH Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($71.99 @ B&H)
Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital - BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($68.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Xion - XON-310_BK MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($23.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA - 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply  ($29.88 @ OutletPC)
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link - TL-WN781ND PCI-Express x1 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter  ($12.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $377.38
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Now, I'm wondering if I should tone down the GPU and put a 1050 in, but I'm not sure which one would be more beneficial to editing and capturing media. Any ideas?

Maybe go for a g4560 and a cheaper motherboard so you can put some sort of gpu in there. However, depending on the programs he's using, he might want a higher quality CPU over a good gpu. What programs is he going to be using?

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

CPU is not good enough for video editing... let alone an i5. It takes me a long time to render a 1080p video on my PC and I've got an i5 4690.

It depends on what you add to the video... Without anything added to the video obviously it'll render quicker... I add affects, audio, I colour grade my Videos to look good. It struggles 1080p 60fps.

He'll be using Premiere or Vegas to render captures from the Elgato

I'd either find a good, cheap multi-core processor or a really strong single core processor

Ryzen 3 would be good for this build. He should wait for Ryzen 3.

Still Ryzen has way more coes and l3 cache which beats intel. Its IPC little bit behind Intel but it's still worth picking up
