My specs are an RX 480 4gb and i5-6500 (plenty capable of running Overwatch until today) with a 29.2 Mbps download and 11.3 Mbps upload. My issue is that I can't tell what the problem is. In game I encounter momentary freezes where I can't do anything despite a constant 70fps (maybe a hardware issue?) and in online play the ping jumps to 103 from my usual 65 without any reason. I only encountered this problem recently after installing the latest Rx 480 drivers and newest Overwatch update.

Is it a server problem or am I just bad?

nope, its almost never a hardware issue.

You can perform a driver and or game reinstal but its most likely overwatches problem.

There's a double xp event going on so more players may be active than usual but would that really be causing this much of an impact?

A few extra players on the servers should not cause performance loss if the game is worth playing and is from a real game studio like Overwatch is.

That's what I was afraid of. I'll try reinstalling everything and see how that goes
