So, I'm planning to watercool my Ryzen 7 1700 and I want to know which case is better for this purpose. So the cases are the S340 Elite or the Fractal Design - Define S. I know both of these cases are really good and I'm looking towards the S340 Elite considering it's going more towards my color scheme, black and red (over rated I know) But the Fractal Design has bigger space, which I think is good from going to an AIO cooler to a custom water cooling loot. Oh, and my AIO Cooler is going to be the Corsair H100i V2. So, any suggestions?

s340 elite isn't an amazing case for watercooling, the H440's are better for that. The fractcal r5s and define S's are good, solid build quality and noise dampening with good space.
I'd highly reccomend Phantek's P400S Tempered Glass edition. It's fantastic for the price (afaik it's cheaper than the s340 elite). Comes with tempered glass, better watercooling support than the S340 Elite, and even RGB. Plus, Phanteks deserve support, they are constantly releasing premium products at a low cost.

How did you get to the logic that the S340 was bad for watercooling ?

I've seen tons of custom loops build inside it some even using the cable hider thing to hide tubes, others to mount the Res. Just because it can't be flooded with dual fan Rads doesn't make it bad in any way.

I personally do not like the look of a front mounted radiator but thats just me so in my opinion I would go with the Define S but the tempered glass side panel is really amazing.

A month ago I faced the same question, which case......  So, I read as much as I could about the different cases that appealed to me and I read as many of the forum posts in the case department as I could handle during the month long quest to figure out what would be the best solution to my situation.

Then BANG!!!  It hit me like a ton of my bricks.  The answer to my situation was NOT what other people wanted or thought, it was what I thought and what I believed would be the best solution.  It was my money and I was going to spend it my way.

I'm not trying to discount what others thought about and what would work for them, it was what I thought about and what would work for me.

So, I bought the case I wanted and it works great.  It has LOTS of room inside and the rats nest of cables that I had in the old case is gone.  Everything fits right, the cables are hidden, and it doesn't sound like a tornado passing thru at the height of traffic.

What I'm trying to say is, evaluate your needs, then think about what you want.  Then reach a happy medium between the two and go from there.  You will be a lot happier in the long run knowing that you got what you want and what works given your situation and budget.  Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

BTW, I got a CoolerMaster Maker 5T.

I never said it was bad for watercooling, I said it wasn't amazing. The H440 is meant for watercooling (hence the name H for Hydro)

The s340 is kind of a show case. Doesn't have that great functionality or room (this is coming from someone who build a friends PC in it).

Imo, the p400s TG is far nicer looking and has better cooling support, RGB etc.

Both the P400 and S340 are restrictive and the S340 has zero option for support in the ceiling asides maybe a 120mm.

If you want Phanteks and $100ish, just get the Enthoo Pro M so your fans can actually breath lol.

Or blow $200 on the Evolv TG. It's what I'm doing (kinda, it's a birthday gift from my Aunt that I get to pick something for that price), and I highly doubt I'll regret it. Unless I decide I liked the grey one better than black.... ?

BTW, I'm not some entitled brat or something who flippantly takes money from my Aunt and Uncle. They're well off, and as I'm turning 18, this is the last gift, thus why it's so much. It's normally $25-$50.

Yeah, I'm torn between the grey and black, but I'm going for the back because of the awe inspiring batcave like look (no other way to describe it). It'll definitely draw anyone's eye, especially when the only other things on my desk are a AULA keyboard, MX Master, and a crappy 1680x1050 screen.
