4K video editing workstation

I'm building my first computer and it needs to be able to edit 4K video. I'm looking to spend $2000-$3000 (CAD), including 1-2 monitors, 512 or 1TB ssd + mass hard drive. I've done some research but I am not confident in pairing components for the best performance and  would like some input on what would be the optimal build in this price range. Also wondering between using one or two 4K monitors or a 4K monitor paired with a 1080p monitor. Thanks!

You'd want a Ryzen 7 1700 CPU (or an 1800X if you can't be bothered to OC), something like the ASRick Tiachi mobo, 32GB RAM, and a GTX 1080Ti.

Depends on the software whether he needs that much gpu power (Assuming he isn't gaming at 4K).

Good point. I though it was USD too, so I over budgeted. Also, iMacs can edit 4K and they have pretty slow, low VRAM GPUs.

Quite a few unnecessary items in there imo.

You can easily get away with a cheaper cooler such as a Cryorig H7.

Probably doesn't need an X370 board.

The gpu might be overpowered depending on the software being used. See link I posted above.

Could also get away with a cheaper case, psu and peripherals.

OP can, for reliability purposes, the cooler is overkill for cooling.

You don't need overkill cooling though. Even the stock cooler would be ok.
