Cooling a nvme m.2 drive

A heat sink with some thermal pads between it may help somewhat, but the most important thing would be having decent airflow in the case.

I wouldn't go for something like MSI's solution, where they're not sure if it's a heatsink or a heatshield, so it ended up increasing temps for the sake of marketing and looks.

As long as you have decent airflow in the case, the 960 shouldn't become a problem.

Why the H115i? Corsair just announced their new AIOs which are significantly better, and if you need it now I'd go with something like a Kraken X62.

From my understanding since the 960 evo is a top performing drive you will likely need one but it isn't really crucial. If you are running it near your graphics card the extra heat there may require a heat sink but if you are placing it somewhere where there is already good airflow you will likely be fine.

it will be just below the gpu. Any reccommendations on heatsinks for this drive? dont really know where to start looking.

i dont really need it now... i just dont feel like paying more money for a slightly better aio and rgb. Yes it may look better but the performance is virtually the same from what ive researched.

Performance, yeah. Noise and such? not so much. If you don't need it now, I'd wait for Corsair's new ones :)

Not sure on the releases, but if they're not out by then you probably won't get a bad experience with that h115

As I said, I'm not sure. I can't find any info on it.

I've got an MP500 and it really does get hot in a bench test situation - I'd put yours together in the case and with your normal case airflow, you might be lucky and get enough air going past it. Of course I also think that Samsung NVMe's are better than Crucials, so it might just run cooler because of that fact. Good luck!
