People buying a whack ton of the Polaris cards (whether it be 470 480, 570 or 580) for cryptocurrency mining. I often have people come order 15+ of these cards in the last two weeks.

Also, I heard Alternate (Germany, Netherlands and UK) bought out most of the European market of these cards.

AMD cards are really good for bitcoin mining, and the 400/500 series is an incredible value anyway. there's a cryptocurrency craze right now, so people are buying these cards a ton.

Actually, its not for Bitcoin, but rather other Crypto (Particularity Eitherium I believe). AMD hardware isnt that good for Bitcoin, not in comparison to dedicated ASIC cards (Gaming cards are bad for bitcoin in general, only good for other cyrpto that is ASIC resistant like Ether or Zcash).

Until mining crypto is no longer profitable, which I dont think will happen. Consumers will simply have to buy quick, otherwise the cards will be bought up quickly.

Can someone explain what crypto-current mining is?

It makes me sad that I can't buy one. :(

(To put it very simple) people do calculations and that way earn digital money. There is different type of hardware you can do the calculations on and there are different type of coins.

Some coins are simply not profitable when using GPU's, but there are currently a few that are (very) profitable when doing the calculations on 470, 480, 570 and 580 videocards, which is why people are buying a ton of them.
