Hello Folks!

Why aren't there any good strategy games made?

Only good series in the last few years was Total War/Civ, but nothing in the style of AOE, EE, The Settlers or C&C.

Would you like games like that back in bussines? Because I would love it!

Oh and if you know any other then Civ and Total War, let me know!

Yes, I noticed it too. Too little strategy games nowdays. But to be honest, I'm not also fan of this genre. Only played in the past "Beach life". Was interesting game. And from new games, I liked Oil Rush. It has nice graphics. But I didn't finish any of them, as I said, it's not of my taste genre.

Well XCOM is really fun and C&C was cancelled. If you haven't already played it StarCraft 2 is loads of fun

Never got really into Starcraft, the gameplay is way to fast for a strategy game. ^^

It depends on your definition of strategy I guess. Moba's are strategy games since they fall under RTS...

Yeah, I saw that as I checked some videos.

It actually looks pretty interesting, and it is on sale now, so I most likely will get it. ^^

Did you even read my post?^^

Read the firs two lines then posted lol.

Well still, pretty much all the strategy games I have played are all great. At least we aren't getting 100's of strategy games where 99% of them are crap and 1% are great.

Agreed. I'd love a Halo Wars port. Something simple, yet big(or bigger on PC!).

Have you checked out the Warhammer strategy games?

nope,  but i definitely will.

Have some recommendations?

Well the series is kind of old, but there are plenty of them and expansions.

For example, Dawn of War and II and it's expansions and other spin-offs: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/28986/

There's a 3rd person Warhammer game called "Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine". It feels like a Gears of War type game, but it's amazing. I haven't finished it(and should soon), but I've only played a few hours and fell in love with the lore.

I haven't played any of the strategy games because I'm waiting for the Winter Sale lol.

total war when done right is near perfection of the genre.

besides all the ones listed like civ and aoe one of my old favorites was star wars Rebellion. the game is extremely dated compared to current gen titles but at its core offered a resource gathering ship building planet assaulting star wars space junkei plenty of gameplay. mixed in with rpg style general cards where you level up your generals and hero cards with missions.

I have galactic civilizations downloaded and ready on my steam library but haven't had the chance to fire it up. I also gave sid meiers alpha centauri a bit of playthrough but grew tired after a while.

some very very old favorites are caesar II and stronghold a city builder and castle builder with invasions tacked onto it.

yeah its kind of depressing there aren't that many new titles doing this sort of thing.... just old ones to resurrect.
