I have 3 gaming rigs.  My main, most powerful one, is in the TV room, and I also keep another, less powerful one in the bedroom, which I do use when hiding from the kids.  I have two possible rigs I could use in the bedroom and whichever one I don't keep, I will sell...

Rig #1 (older, more powerful)

i7-4790K OC'ed to 4.5Ghz, cooled by H75(rear exhaust).

Asus Z97 Pro Gamer ATX mobo

16GB DDR3@2133 CAS9

Asus Strix GTX 1060 6G OC

NZXT S340 red/black ATX case

2x Noctua 140mm intake fans

Corsair AF140 red LED top exhaust fan.

Rig #2 (newer, less powerful)

i5-7500 cooled by Cryorig C7

Supermicro Gaming H170 mATX mobo

16GB DDR4@2133 CAS14

Galax EXOC GTX 1060 6G

Thermalright V21 mATX cube case

2x Noctua 140mm intake fans

Noctua 140mm exhaust fan

Parts that I am keeping for the bedroom rig...

2x 250G 850 EVO's in RAID-0

1TB WD Black 7200RPM HDD (games)

1TB 2.5" HDD (backups)

EVGA GQ 650W Gold PSU

27" Asus MX279H IPS 1080p monitor

Corsair K70 keyboard

Corsair M65 Pro mouse

Parts that I am will include in the rig to be sold...

 250G 850 EVO

1TB WD Blue 7200RPM HDD (games)

be quiet! Pure Power 9 500W Silver PSU

I have Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on both systems, so the one I sell will have a fresh copy.

The older rig was my main gaming rig until I built a new from parts I bought during this past Black Friday deals.  The newer one was to be a server, but ended up getting a used real server, so now I have two good systems.  I know that my older rig is more powerful, but remember that I will only be doing 1080p@60Hz gaming using a GTX 1060 on this system, plus some basic Internet, so really don't need the extra power of the older rig.

My main question is which one would get me more money and be easier to sell?  I had thought the new one, and had it up on CL for a while, but not getting any serious bites other than the constant scam attempts.  So thinking about trying to sell the older one instead.  Just dunno, thoughts?

I don't think it matters too much because even if you stuck with the 7500 build it is not like it would bottleneck a 1060, why not put them both up and just get rid of whatever sells first? I think the first build would sell easier though.

I agree with LeapFrog, post adverts for both and see which one goes first.

If however, you only want to post 1 add, I'd sell Rig 1, since Rig 2 is easier to upgrade, you can easily throw a second hand 7700 two years down the line and the rig will last you another couple of years.

an overclocked 4790k will be better than a non k 7700

True, but atm the extra power the 4790k has is wasted, as the 7500 is not a bottle neck at 1080p@60hz and I think RIg 1 would sell for significantly more. I only mentioned the upgrade to draw attention to the fact that there is still room to improve on the H170 platform, whereas the Z97 pretty much has the best CPU you can place in that socket.
