USB Player

hey guys,

 

so heres the deal i need some sort of speaker or stereo that plays direktly from USB.

its for my grandparents so easy to use and loud enough are the only criteria. nothing fancy just usb in and loud enough audio out.

 

looking for a cheap solution but all i could find are those portable mini speakers with like 3 watt rms and i fear thats not gonna cut it since they dont hear that well.

 

EDIT: i figure i could maybe use their stereo since it has aux in but sadly no usb in so i would need some sort of interface

If its cheap you are after. Just get a mp3 player and 2 computer speakers.

For example a Lenco MP3 player (with microsd slot and 2GB onboard) for 20 and some 6-7W speakers, most will be also 20.

theoretically yes but the thing is the usb stick is not my choice they get those from their church so i cant use a mp3 player. also it needs to be easy enough to use so they can do it themselves

Depending on their TV, they might already have it. Some Tv's will play mp3s off a stick, some even video. Might only need to get an extention cord to make it easier to plug in.

sorry i may have been misleading i didnt say tv, they dont own a tv. the got a stero for playing cd/cassette so yeah...very old fashion my folks

Np. I was just coming up with a suggestion of a way to solve the problem without buying anything, using existing hardware. But if they don't have a TV that doesn't help at all.

Look this up on Amazon, it sounds like it might solve your problem: "Craig Portable Rechargeable Digital Mini Tower FM Stereo Radio and USB/SD Slot (CR4189)".

almost any DVD or BD player made in the last couple of years has a USB port. you could get a cheap one and connect it to aux. (has to have analog out - that's getting more rare these days) 

 

also, most of these portable mini speakers also have a headphone jack, right?

you can use it as a line out and hook up the mini speakers to their stereo that way.

He want a speaker with USB?

Also USB but not Portable?

 

Do you want small speaker with USB Powered or USB Input?

Or just Active Speaker with USB Input for playing MP3?

 

My wife use this

it's a 2.1 speaker as you can see it has USB Port in front, it's not really good  quality but loud enough and I don't think you can get this outside my country.

I'm just giving an example.

yeah the easiest way i guess would be getting one of these, connect it to their stereo and hope they can learn to use it
