You won't look like a "cheap ass" for not spending money at Micro Center. Just stick to your friend and you'll look like the "I'm helping my friend build his PC" guy rather than some cheap dude. I said your PC would benefit from a new graphics card, and that's about it. If they have them, you could get an NZXT HUE + (RGB controller + 4 strips.) I have one, and it's nice. It costs $60.

I used to be quite active here.

a 1070 would be a nice bump, like going from a 970 > 980Ti , but really, if you don't NEED anything, which it doesn't look like you do. Save up for a 1080Ti ;)

You can always get a Hue+ for some RGB goodness or grab a new mouse mat or something like that? Maybe even another monitor if you want to drop all your cash.

I've never really understood the MOAR R G B .. my computer isn't a show piece, it sits in a spot on my homemade desk where I can't see it and isn't RGB on mouse and keyboard enough? i mean, do you constantly look at your PC and go " damn that's beautiful! " .. if you do, you need MOAR HOBBIES

Get yourself a set of HD120/140 rgb fans, they will sync with your cooler and maybe even keyboard while providing decent quality fans.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I love Star Wars, I mess around with my Legos every once in a while, I play video games, work on and ride my mountain bike, sit around and do nothing... so no, I don't need more hobbies. But I still look at my poor cheapo PC and game upon it's beauty. But then I'm the guy who'll open up an iPhone and gaze at the perfectly organized electronics inside, then carry it around my office and show everyone.

EDIT: Here's my poor sad PC:

lol, it's also a SIX CORE processor on AIR, cause I don't like liquid in my electronics. I'd rather have a 1080Ti, I bought a 960, then a 970, then sold the 970 cause of the RAM BS, bought a 980Ti..... now want 1080Ti.... fml
