Is the driver scanning software that comes with Windows 10's latest update sufficient enough to check for the latest and greatest or should I consider investing in a driver software management program?  I am always paranoid that my drivers are out of date of that I don't have the best ones and I am still very new to PC so I want to best performance possible.  Thanks guys!

You should only be looking at a few sources of updates:

- OS

- CPU/Chipset

- GPU

- Motherboard

- OEM-only updates

For my PC, I use:

- Windows Update

- Nvidia Drivers Center

- Intel Download Center

- MSI's driver pages

I exclusively prioritize Dell-specific drivers on my XPS 13 over generic Intel and Realtek drivers. Windows Update is automatic. I look into the other two maybe once a month or every two months.

No. Never. Because I don't know of a single driver update program that either works correctly or isn't a scam/malware.

Windows 10 is pretty good at finding the right drivers for most things, aside from your GPU and chipset drivers. Those I manually acquire from AMD or nVidia, and whomever my motherboard manufacturer happens to be at the time. Laptops are a little easier, although I still find that using the manufacturer's website is sometimes better than relying on Windows inability to actually do smart things.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)
