No. It will boot off of one. If it boots off the wrong one then you can change it in the boot priorities in the bios.

ok thanks for your help

well.. you'll need to put it in *some* computer to wipe it, and from there on out you just pick your favourite way of wiping it:

- linux install media with gparted

- windows disk manager

- more excentric stuff

Is there any reason why you don't you want to erase it with the old computer? You can delete partitions in disk management if it has windows on it. If it doesn't have an os you can delete the partitions in the media installer for windows or linux and install an os.

Unsure what power supply to pick?

When you say it has windows, are you talking about my new pc, or the old drive?

The new pc. Just right click on the windows icon and go to disk management. Click on the partitions on the disk and you can delete the volumes there.

You want to install windows on it?

Just plug it in and start installing windows https://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-windows-10/

When you get to this screen you click each one and hit 'delete'

When all that is left is 'unallocated space' (which you can't delete) you click next and finish installing windows.

Won't the PC try to run both operating systems though?

I use AOMEI hard disk partition utility, and it FREE.  And it will do whatever you want it to do to clean the drive.  But, the only thing it won't do is perform a low-level format.  The utility that I use for low-level formatting is from http://hddguru.com/.  They have a free version too.
