Seasonic M12II 520w if you want modularity for cheap that still good

EVGA B3 is cheaper

Corsair CX45M is also great

Hey Everybody,

I'm about to build my first gaming PC and I need to choose a good power supply. I'm not very educated when it comes to power supplies so I don't know if i am paying to much or having too much wattage.

My build consumes about 352w according to PcPartPicker. I don't plan to do any overclocking and I don't plan to do any upgrading any time soon except for installing an other 500gb of storage. If you have any recommendations

then please leave a comment. Thanks!

What is you budget? I would get a 500W or 550W PSU in you case.

The Seasonic S12 II or the Corsair CXM (with the gray label) would be good budget options.

The EVGA Supernova G3 for example is more expensive but is a higher quality unit.

I would suggest you to go with:

If you can pay more for a Power supply go for a Corsair Gaming Series GS700 PSU

Or if you don't wanna spend more then you can go for a Corsair VS650

Laptop: Asus R558U Notebook Series

Processor: Intel® Core i5™ 7200U clocked up to 3.1 Ghz

Memory: 12 Gigabytes of Crucial SODIMM Memory

HDD: 1 TB

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 940MX

Wouldn't recommend either of these, especially not the VS series.

For real though, Corsair VS is trash honestly.. Tier 6. Don't get them.

GS is tier 4, better but "meh".

Grey CXM's will be better. like:

Majority of PSUs now days (at least, those that aren't super-budget oriented) have black cables.

Corsair's "Grey Label" CXM series is probably the best for the price in your budget right now. Has black cables.

They're basically impossible to find now. For the price you'd pay for one there's the RMi/x and G3 units.

GS series seems to be in Tier 4 while the CSM series is in tier 3.

And if you did find them they are expensive af. Last time I checked they were selling in Canada for like 80-90CAD. Can't remember what wattage but for a non modular bronze cert that is quite a lot considering CXM and S12II can be found for cheaper

$79, best PSU just over your budgeted cost, will most likely last for a long time, good components and warranty.
