First PC Build Thoughts?

1 minute ago, Ya_Mi said:

Low quality? no its not..not that great for the price? if its new then i agreed but if there are no other option i would happily use it for his build.

Try to read the review first.. overall build and performance is good enough for the price.

But since its an old and outdated psu u can find a better one with similar price.. well not really similar maybe a bit more expensive.

Yes yes if u spend a good psu in the first place it can save u from future upgrade but if u dont have the budget Green is enough for his build.

Still have doubt? ask him @Starelementpoke @STRMfrmXMN

the green CXs had lower quality components, fine for a cheapo gtx 1050 build but not an rx 470.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Luckily for me the grey ones seem to be cheaper than the green ones for some reason. Don't know if that's a weird British thing

Yeah, just try and get the cx450m instead of the cx450, as the m has semimodular cables which really helps cleaning up cable mess,

Also, can I ask what 'semimodular cables' means?

Basically the main cables, such as the 24pin atx and 8pin EPS (sometimes also the PCIe cables) are attached permanently to the PSU as you will always use them. Other cables, like sata and molex, are optional and jyou can plug them out of the PSU so you don't have to deal with cables you're not gonna use anyway

some of the cables can be removed from the psu and kept somewhere rather than being left on the psu in your rig.

Ah okay, that sounds helpful. I've found the CX450M on Amazon so i'll upgrade to that. They list the grey CX450M at £48.36 but the green CX430M at £54.99 so no debate on which to get. Cheers.

Also, in terms of monitor, do I need an IPS display or will TN at 1080p 75Hz be okay as it will just be for gaming? And is a DisplayPort better than HDMI?

An IPS monitor has far better viewing angles and color reproduction, but the TN panel monitor you're looking at has freesync which will make your gaming experience much smoother. IPS isn't needed, it just gives you better picture quality.

IPS for better color and viewing angle.. TN is budget friendly monitor but if u want to go to the 144hz range is not budget friendly anymore but at least its cheaper than ips.

Btter? yes although it doesnt matter if u are not gonna utilize the feature
