Hi there everyone. A buddy of mine is upgrading to a 1080ti and he is gonna sell me his 980ti. The question I need to ask is I currently have a XFX XTR 550w PSU in my i5 4590, R9 280x system. I was wondering will my PSU be sufficient enough for the 980ti, or do I have to upgrade to a higher wattage psu? Thanks for reading. Hope to hear from you.

980Ti draws 250W from the wall when under load, even more if you overclock. Nvidia recommends 600W+ PSUs. Taken directly from their website:

Edit: You should be fine, though I would not overclock it. That's up to you :)

It will be enough.

Your CPU doesn't take a lot of power, and GTX 980 Ti won't use more than 350W probbably.

It's more than enough... even with an overclocked GTX 980Ti.

Okay. Cool, I don't plan on overclocking anything honestly.

That's what I said. I have had no problems  with my 280x, but cmon for that price who wouldn't upgrade.
