They probably replaced the top piece where the trackpad is housed then.  Those usually come as one assembled piece when they're spare parts.

Hello LTT Forums!

So, I sent my Razer Blade 2016 in for repair and I got a rather cryptic email back. I have no idea what they replaced, I was wondering if you guys know was a "C cover" and a "LCD assy" is?

Find the email below,

I would bet "assy" is short for assembly, so they might have just swapped out your entire screen from the hinges up, and that might be a very time efficient way to fix a laptop screen if it has a problem. C Cover, idk what that would be, but if you were more specific about what you've sent the laptop in for, I might have an idea...

C cover could be interpret as "C", i.e. cover, has been replaced. It can also mean that cover C , out of multiple cover pieces, is replaced

Why did you send it back?

With custom laptop builders (think Sager and Xotic PC), they refer to the plastic chassis around the keyboard as the C surface so my guess would be that the C cover is the keyboard assembly.

Ah right. That would make sense, do you think it would have to be replaced to repair the trackpad?

Probably not. But they probably just want to finish the repair quickly and get it over with so they just replaced the whole C assembly.
