video editing

Hey Guys,

I was wondering what would be the best software to use for video editing? I have some games ive recorded but a few times i accidently left it on and got my desktop as well, & I'd like to cut those frames out. Maybe even add some effects. I put imovie on my macbook because it sounded like it'd be a good piece of software but i added the file in and it just showed 1 frame, I couldnt crop anything out. Any suggestions?

Are you sure your video file was in a usable format for imovie? I remember having trouble video editing a clip I made until I changed it to a different file format.

im not sure but that is a good question because its an apple program it'd probably have to be MP4 right? the file i think i made was a mkv

Yeah I would use a program like handbrake or something to try and put it in a format your software can use. I'm not an expert on the matter by any means but that helped me when I was having issues editing a video in the past.

If your on a mac go with final cut pro. It will run the best and is significantly cheaper than AdobeCC.

I couldn't get to that because it was asking me for panels and I was confused what panels but it's expensive stuff
